Feature Barn: Mill Run at Wedgewood Farm, Wauconda
Chicago Equestrian welcomes Mill Run at Wedgewood Farm in Wauconda. This 30 acre, 41 stall barn includes a separate school barn and sits at a great location off Hwy 12. The farm is run by the mother/daughter team of Donna Kriese and Alexis Tantimonico. The farm includes a beautiful large indoor 90’x250’, a separate indoor for the riding school, outdoor arena, tack rooms, lounges, wash stalls, turnout paddocks and heat.
Donna is an experienced horse woman and has dabbled in western pleasure, saddle seat, driving and more. At the age of 10 she focused on hunters and jumpers which remains their specialty. Donna’s brother, Wade Pecos, does team roping at their facility as well, adding to the mix of well rounded horsemanship.
Alexis has been riding since the age of three and turned professional at the age of 21. Together with her mother, they have established a successful team. They are able to individualize programs for every budget and every need.
‘We try to treat everybody as an individual. We cater to everyone’s needs and we treat everyone as family here,” Alexis stated.
Their summer schedule includes A shows such as Ledges, Kentucky and Traders Point in Indiana, as well as one B show a month. They offer lessons for all levels and lesson horses for riders just starting. Horses are available for lease or for sale and training can be provided for customers with their own horses.
Mill Run is located at 26011 N. Rand Road, Wauconda, IL. 847-526-8610. Visit their website at WedgewoodFarm.com or email them at firstname.lastname@example.org
